Jose Schulz

Head of Foreign Energy and Commodity Policy, Federal Foreign Office

Dr. José Schulz holds a master's degree in Business Administration and a PhD in Economics from the University of Passau. He joined the German Foreign Service in 1997. His first foreign assignment was Mexico City, where he first served as deputy head of the Economic and Economic Cooperation Division, then as head of the Press and Protocol Division of the German Embassy. Afterwards he served as deputy spokesperson and spokesperson for economic affairs at the German Embassy in Washington, D.C. His third foreign assignment was the German Embassy in New Delhi, where he served as head of the Economic and Commercial Division. In the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin he served in the Directorate General for Political Affairs (European Correspondent's Office), the Directorate General for Europe (deputy head of the Southern European Division) and in the Task Force Afghanistan Pakistan (Head of Pakistan Team). Since 2015 he is head of the Foreign Energy and Commodity Policy Division in the Directorate General for Economic Affairs.
